Report him to the Police, or put his details up here and I will. HE is the reason we all pay more insurance in this country, why should we pay for idiots like him?

With the amount of Police cars that are fitted with ANPR cameras, he is very unlikely to be driving much longer.
If he is stopped and can not produce insurance at that time then his car will be impounded at a cost to him, about £120.00, before he gets it back he must pay that, plus about £12.00 a day storage and he must produce a current insurance police for the vehicle. Asking his mate to pick his car up does not work, the Police are wise to this.
He will also be given 6 points on his licence plus a fine of about £150.00 for the insurance and 3 points plus a fine for no MOT.
Tell him to stop driving or you will report him, if he is involved in an accident, who is going to pay for the damage to the other vehicle or for injuries others may receive. If you do not report him, then you are just as bad as him.

What do you think. What woud you think if he managed to knock somebody down, ok thats possibly worst case but its the likes of me and the other genuine motorists who have to pay for your sons mistakes if he does have an accident and damages or worse something or someone else. Stop him now before it happens or if he wont shop him and thats all our problems stopped as the Police have the power to seize uninsured cars immediately and they can be crushed then there is the fine which can be costly and points which can spoil ones chances of employment. Get him insured or off the road.

First of all the State of Illinois has a very stiff fine for not having insurance. Second of all you have to think of what will happen if you hit a car. How would you pay for the car you hit?
Some states the owner of the car you hit can pull your driving privliges from you until his car is paid off. believe me driving without insurance ins't worth it . do some homework and try to get at least a a liability policy. It won't cover your car but will cover the other guys.
If you hit someone who long do you want to be paying for it?
Source(s):
I dated a girl in when I finished highschool that had a brother that rearended a car without insurance. They went to court and the only way he was able to keep his license was to make payments to the guy. It was a new car and he had to pay $3500 in damages. What do you want more the damage payments for years or just a monthly insurance payment.

Is he aware of the consequences of having an accident or getting stopped by the police?
If not give him the information - that he will get points on his license, insurance will be more expensive and he may be at risk of losing his licence or even criminal proceedings and a spell in prison if the circumstances are extreme enough. If hes old enough to drive he should be old enough to behave responsibly.
I would avoid trying to take his keys as I think that would just end up in a fight where you take opposing views and the focus would be on getting the keys back rather than behaving responsibly.
Good luck!

You might want to tell him the risks involved in that since some states it the law that you have to be insured. I would also tell him that if he get in a accident he could get sued and if he still lives with you then that could be a problem. Even if he gets just minimum coverage. Since he does not own a house then he could just get the bare bones coverage with a liability of 50,000

If the police find out that you don't have insurance they take your car away and crush it. They find out in seconds which road users have insurance and which don't. It's not worth the risk. Tell him to sort the insurance and mot out.

A friend of mine did the same thing. He got caught. His car got impounded, he lost his licence and had to pay a fine.
Police are really clamping down on that kind of thing.
Maybe tell your son what I just told you.
