Your best bet may be to simply go on your parent's insurance, if possible, especially if it's for such a short duration. If you have to get your own insurance I would recommend researching and comparing insurance quotes online. I've done this before and for me I found Geico to the best option.

Get adequate insurance not cheap insurance. The legal minimum in most states isn't enough to pay for much more than a fender bender. If you have an accident you will get sued and might be paying for the damages above your coverage limit, possibly for the next 50 years.
