Okay - tell me honestly, any of you, preferably native-born Japanese, what do you think about China and Chinese people? Is there great admiration and love for them generally, or racism and hatred?

Question on : What do Japanese people REALLY think about Chinese people today? No, I mean, like, really.?
Many Japanese have resentment about Chinese expansionism over the territorial issue and supression of the people , widening gap between rich and poor but it is also true many Japanese have admiration of their economic development, Japanese like to refer to Chinese proverbs in their everyday conversations, many Japanese have that ambivalence about China.

We, as Japanese national, will think Chinese people the same way we, as world citizen, think Prada. He is one of the hardest-woking missionaries here at YA, resulting in people getting hatrad feeling against China. How can normal-minded people love China and their people which have killed their own citizen much more than all the exaggetated and China-made-up number of death tolls?

Maybe you should ASK yourself what do you really think about Japanese people? Most Chinese people have such bad attitude like Prada. Most Japanese people don't give 2 shits about China, only Chinese people are so concerned about how people think about themselves. That truly shows inferiority complex.

Frankly speaking, I can't find any reason to admire and love the Chinese and also harvour any racism and hatred against them. To me, it looks like the Chinese are too much biased in their knowledge of modern history particularly that of Sino-Japanese solely due to the history education by despotic government. As a nation it looks China does not share the common value of the world of humanity, free speech, justice which are the basis of developed countries. But as people to people interaction goes, I see no reason to discriminate against the Chinese.

Question on : What do Japanese people REALLY think about Chinese people today? No, I mean, like, really.?
Since the establishment of a flourishing trade between Japan and China the relationship between the two countries has improved dramatically. From some of the comments on the net some Japanese are interested in Chinese culture, some regard Chinese people as distant as the Americans across the Pacific, but some disapprove of China's relentless pursuit of Japanese war crimes during the Sino-Japanese Wars, most notably the Second one around the time of WWII. Some Japanese are annoyed some Chinese people are still stuck in the past, whereas some other Japanese people simply think Chinese estimates of the casualties of the Second Sino-Japanese War are over-exaggerated, some thinks Japan has been degraded ever since their defeat in WWII and they think they victors (China, America, Allied powers) are exaggerating Japanese war crimes in order to subjugate Japan forever. And then there's those Japanese who thinks even well-documented history such as the Nanking Massacre never happened in a wave a paranoia against American and Chinese sources. All in all most Japanese have a neutral point of view toward the Chinese, but some have...... unusual perspectives on the actions of the Imperial Japanese Army during WWII, and thus the historical debates around WWII continue to be a block between Sino-Japanese relations.

I think there is that silent feeling of deep animosity and loathing, but it politely bubbles beneath the surface, you know, rather than just bursting its way out? No, honestly...Japanese people aren't too close with the Chinese even now.
